My name is Andy Morley, I am a professional internet marketer, 29 years old and live in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Below is a quick break down of my career so far, briefly explaining my past experiences and education.

1999 – The Beginning

I work in the Internet Marketing industry, and have worked in “web” since 2001. I first started designing websites whilst at Derby University in 1999, where I studied Computer Information Systems (Database Design & Planning and Programming).

2001

Shortly after “dipping my toe” in web design I began working as a Freelance Designer in 2001. Working on a wide range of projects, from personal websites to business sites, eCommerce shopping carts to bespoke content management systems (CMS). This was long before the days of Joomla CMS and Magento Shopping Carts, we simply had to build our own systems.

2002 – 2003

Once graduating from Derby University in 2002, I began to develop my skills within the Web Design industry, attending a full time Multimedia course at New College Nottingham. Where I was sharpening my skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and many more. This Multimedia course not only broadened my horizons with Web technologies, but also introduced me to 3d animation (using 3d studio max), video production and editing, and also audio production.

2004 – 2006

After finishing the course at New College Nottingham, In 2004 I began working for a web development company called LeenTech Ltd. I was employed as a front end designer, designing clients websites and front end user interfaces for web based applications. In my time at LeenTech I began to understand the “commercial” side of the web industry.

2006 – Introduction to Internet Marketing

I joined Adtrak in 2006, as their first Web Designer. I was responsible for creating and maintaining a range of clients websites, within 6 months the company had expanded and there was the need to hire more design staff. My role of being the sole webdesigner soon become one of Web Team manager. I was hiring new designers and project managing a team of 6 people.

2006 – Becoming a business owner

In late 2006 I decided to set up my own company called Evolution Media Services Ltd, my previous employer, Adtrak, became my primary client. I was running my own company, invoicing Adtrak for the work I did. My day to day role at Adtrak didn’t change. I was still the web team leader.

This was an exciting time, I was learning how to manage a company, find clients, make sales, and do my accounts. I have this valuable experience, which I feel has helped my career.

2007

In 2007, the company branched out into the world of SEO. It was time for the company to expand again, I had to dust of my recruitment hat, and began searching for an SEO consultant to join our team. Jason Parker, an old work colleague from LeenTech was appointed as Adtrak’s first SEO consultant.

The SEO services we were offering to our clients soon became a major source of income for the company. I was asked to get involved in the SEO, I was given SEO training by Jason Parker and began my career as an Internet Marketer.

2008

The company moved into new offices in Nottingham city centre in November 2008. The SEO team grew, and I was asked to become the SEO manager. My new role was to project manage the company’s SEO projects, managing a team of internet marketing staff.

I dissolved Evolution Media Services and became an employee of Adtrak once again.

2009 – March 2012

In 2009, I became the manager of the Web Dynamics Department. The team consists of 10 Internet Marketing consultants.
